KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore SEA Games champion Chong Wei Feng was Kepong Badminton Club’s hero, clinching the winning point against Klang United in the Resorts World Genting Purple League.
Wei Feng was in his element, beating Chin Wai Kin 11-7, 11-9, 11-6 in the deciding match to steer Kepong BC to an 11-9 win at the Sports Arena Sentosa in Jalan Klang Lama.
Before Wei Feng’s win, both clubs were involved in a neck-and-neck battle.
Klang United BC won the men’s singles and doubles through Leong Jun Hao and Alwi Mahardika-Sabar Karyaman Gutama.
Kepong BC fought back by winning the women’s singles through Deng Xuan and mixed doubles through Mei Qi Li-Ong Jian Guo before Wei Feng sealed the winning points.
