PETALING JAYA: A thrilling 3-2 win over Indonesia in the badminton mixed team quarter-finals has assured Malaysia of their first medal at the World University Games (Universiade) in Gwangju, South Korea.

Former national shuttlers, Sannatasah Saniru and Ti Wei Chyi combined to deliver the winning point for Malaysia by stunning world No. 27 Devi Tika Permatasari-Keshya Nurvita Hanadia 22-20, 13-21, 23-16 in the women’s doubles at the Hwasun Hanium Culture Sports Centre.
