PETALING JAYA: It’s been almost six months since China last emerged victorious in the women’s singles of a Superseries event – the longest drought ever suffered by the badminton superpowers since the top flight circuit’s inauguration in 2007.

China last won a women’s singles title when world No. 1 Li Xuerui captured the French Open last October – and have gone six tournaments without a title.
