Wei Feng stuns Wan-ho in China Open first round

PETALING JAYA: Chong Wei Feng delivered some much needed cheer for the Malaysian men’s singles department, producing one of his best performances of the year to stun world No. 7 Son Wan-ho in the first round of the China Open in Fuzhou.

With the national squad still rocking from world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei’s failed dope test and indefinite suspension by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Wei Feng stood up to be counted to send fifth seed Wan-ho packing with a 21-14, 22-20 win.
