KUALA LUMPUR: Scratch men’s doubles pair Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong are set to be Malaysia’s most reliable pair if their strong showing in the Australian Open badminton championships is anything to go by. 

The unseeded V Shem-Wee Kiong put up a commendable showing to upset sixth seeds Markis Kido-Gideon Markus Fernaldi of Indonesia 19-21, 21-11, 21-12 in just 33 minutes to reach the quarter-finals in Sydney on Thursday.
