Malaysia get off to good start at World Junior meet


A nervous Ho Yen Mei struggled to beat Australia's Joy Lai 26-24, 21-12 in the mixed team event of the World Junior Championships.

ALOR SETAR: Despite two victories in the bag in the mixed team event at the World Junior Championships, Malaysia need to up their game with the knockout stages looming.

Playing in back-to-back matches at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium, Malaysia edged out Australia 5-0, having dropped just one game, and easily packed off Uzbekistan by an identical scoreline in a late match on Monday.
