SEA Games: Women shuttlers found lacking

Tee Jing Yi is one of three shuttlers who have been placed in Category B for the SEA Games in December. The BAM will have to fund their trip and it will be reimbursed if the trio win medals at the Games.

KUALA LUMPUR: The lack of depth in the women’s badminton squad was exposed yet again when three of them were named under Category B for the SEA Games in Myanmar in December.

It is the first time that badminton shuttlers have been placed under Category B in the biennial Games. Athletes under Category B will be funded by the association and the money will only be reimbursed if they win medals at the Games.
