Japan Open: Players unclear why they were dropped

Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong put up a good fight before going down to four-time world champions Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng of China in the third round of the World Championships in Guangzhou, China. The pair are unclear why they were dropped from the squad going for the Japan Open.

KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles shuttler Hoon Thien How is disappointed that the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have poured cold water on the plan to play in the Japan Open from Sept 17-22.

The only players confirmed for the Japan Open are world No. 1 men’s singles shuttler Lee Chong Wei and top mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying.
