Joo Ven remains upbeat of future despite defeat

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s No. 1 junior Soong Joo Ven of Selangor failed to defend the boys’ Under-18 title in the 100PLUS National Junior Grand Prix Finals but he remained in an upbeat mood.

Yesterday, the 18-year-old Joo Ven was beaten 14-21, 21-18, 20-22 by Lim Chi Wing of Kuala Lumpur in a thrilling 63-minute battle at the Sukpa Hall in Kuantan.
