Jega: Krishnan was a great rival and a true friend


PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Dr. M. Jegathesan hailed fellow Olympic sprinter Datuk Thambu Krishnan (pic) as a rival and a friend throughout their international career in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Krishnan, regarded as one of the finest sprinters in Asia alongside “Flying Doctor” Jegathesan, passed away at the Penang General Hospital yesterday following an illness. He was 81.
