Shereen reaping fruits of long and hard labour

Leading the pack: Shereen Samson goes to the front to win the 400m NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 52.27.

PETALING JAYA: Shereen Samson Vallabouy’s feat of bettering her 400m indoor national record, and also the 30-year-old outdoor mark held by Rabia Abdul Salam, is the result of years of hard work, training, dedication and perseverance.

Ever since she was 13, Shereen has been working persistently on her athletic prowess so that she can one day follow in the footsteps of her parents, Samson Vallabouy and Josephine Mary, who are former national athletes.
