Half-century man Suresh walks tall among youngsters


Late bloomer: Suresh only took up competitive walking when he was 38.

KUALA LUMPUR: A 50-year-old G. Suresh Kumar stood tall among the youngsters in the 20km walk at the MAF Track and Field Championships.

Suresh, a Malaysian Masters athlete (a person who competes in a veteran athletics event), showed age was just a number when he gave his all to complete the race in seventh spot with a time of 2’11:38.45 in the 10-member field at the National Sports Council (NSC) Mini Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
