TOKYO (Reuters) - Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed lauded his compatriot Selemon Barega's stunning victory in the men's 10,000 metres on Friday when he upset world record holder Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda to become the new Olympic champion.
Abiy took to Twitter to congratulate Barega, who became the first Ethiopian to win the event since Kenenisa Bekele won his second title in 2008 in Beijing.
