CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - The African Athletics Championships have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) said in a major blow to those hoping to use the event to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
The event was scheduled for Lagos later this month after Nigeria had stepped in at the last moment to replace Algeria as hosts.
