Friendship to take back seat for Hup Wei and Nauraj

Friends and foes: Gold medallist Nauraj Singh Randhawa and silver medallist Lee Hup Wei celebrating during the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games two years ago.

HIGH jumpers Lee Hup Wei and Nauraj Singh Randhawa are good buddies, having known each other since the Pahang Open in 2010. Every Saturday since then, the two get together for lunch at PJ Old Town or for dim sum in Sri Petaling whenever they are in Malaysia.

For the next two weeks, though, that friendship will have to take a back seat as the duo go all out to outdo each other in the SEA Games at the Clark New City Stadium in the Philippines to win the gold – and maybe even set a new Games record.
