Quartet’s feats in Rio has raised profile of para athletes

THERE is no doubt that the exploits of four para athletes at the Rio Paralympics last year have given the sport a much-needed boost.

In Rio, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli (men’s shot putt T20), Abdul Latif Romly (men’s long jump T20) and Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi (sprint T36) made history when they won gold medals while Siti Noor Radiah Ismail (women’s long jump T20) chipped in with a bronze.
