KUALA LUMPUR: Sprinter G. Aravinn Thevarr believes he is capable of breaking the oldest national record in Malaysian athletics.
The 23-year-old from Perak has set his sights on breaking Tan Sri Dr M. Jegathesan’s 200m national record of 20.92 seconds set in the semi-finals of the 1968 Mexico Olympics.
Aravinn clocked the third fastest time in Malaysia’s men’s 200m history when he clocked 21.04 at the Singapore Open Athletics Championships last month.
