KUALA LUMPUR: Young sprinter Nixon Kennedy sprang a surprise, clocking a personal best time at the Malaysian Open athletics championships to qualify for the Singapore SEA Games in June.

The 20-year-old Sibu-born athlete clocked a personal best time of 10.50 in the men’s 100m semi-finals on the opening day at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
