PETALING JAYA: World Championships silver medallist Khairul Anuar Mohd (pic) was the surprise casualty when he was ousted in the last 32 of the men’s individual recurve event at the Asian Archery Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
Khairul, who has made the early cut for the Tokyo Olympics next year, fell 2-6 to Kazakhstan’s Mussayev Sanzhar. Khairul received a bye for the first round as the fifth-seeded archer from the ranking rounds on Saturday.
