Ministry: We can’t probe Zoo Negara

The Science, Technology and Environment Ministry cannot monitor or investigate Zoo Negara over reports that some of the 540 animals kept there had died in 2001 and last year. Its deputy minister Datuk Zainal Dahalan said this was because Zoo Negara was run by a private organisation and thus, did not come under its purview.
