Renault plans to expand operations in South Korea

French carmaker Renault unveiled yesterday plans to expand its South Korean unit, including a rapid increase in exports from next year and developing a sport utility vehicle by late 2007. Renault president Carlos Ghosn, who also heads the French firm's Japanese alliance partner Nissan Motor Co, told a news conference that Renault Samsung Motors Inc (RSM) aimed to sell 30,000 units of its small-sized SM3 next year through Nissan.

Singapore's Central Provident Fund Investment Scheme (CPFIS)-included unit trusts, charted an average return of 6.3% for the quarter ended Sept 30, Standard Poor's (SP) fund services said. For the CPFIS-included insurance-linked products (ILP), the average return was 5.6%.
