World Cup 2014: State of the nations (Part 1)

With the World Cup 2014 days away, we look at the teams and their groups and how they will fare in the coming weeks.

On Dec 6, 2013, I was watching Jason Statham’s Homefront in a cinema whilst the World Cup draw was going on. Sadly, the movie did not meet my expectations and I found myself checking out live tweets of the draw.

The draw did not disappoint me one bit considering the anticipation and anxiety that preceeded it. All I can think of was the World Cup.

Fast forward six months later, we are all set to usher in one of the biggest sports tournament in the world - the world's most beautiful game.

Of the eight groups in this tournament, I believe three - B, D and G - will be hard to call. In my opinion, all the teams in these groups stand a chance to make the cut for the next round.
