AT the 8th Asean Smart Cities Network meeting, held in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 9 to 11, one theme kept coming back to the surface: people. Ordinary people. People like you, like me, like the ones we walk past every day but don’t always see.
That meeting made me realise something essential: that the future of our cities isn’t about technology alone. It’s about dignity. And dignity cannot be programmed; it must be designed.
