SIM card scams are not usually due to our carelessness

MALAYSIA is experiencing a noticeable rise in SIM card scams, yet most discussions remain superficial, often reduced to public warnings such as “do not give your number to strangers”. (SIM stands for subscriber identity module and refers to a microchip that contains a unique subscriber identifier and is present in any device that connects to a mobile network.)
