WE, the undersigned organisations, convened in Kuala Lumpur at the “Urban Affairs Policy Summit” held by the Institute of Strategic Research and Policy Research to deliberate on the proposed Urban Renewal Act (URA) and its far-reaching implications for Malaysian society.
Following discussion, we unequivocally reject the URA and highlight the following recurring structural flaws:
