A TOTAL of RM277bil gone in six years – this is what Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki revealed recently, “MACC: RM277bil lost to corruption” (The Star, Sept 11).

This amount encompasses losses through outright corruption as well as systemic issues like collusion in procurement, wasteful practices and governance gaps averaging about RM46bil annually.
