Patient safety first: Swift action needed in sexual misconduct case involving Penang doctor

RECENT revelations regarding a Penang-based doctor who has been arrested four times in connection with alleged sexual misconduct raise grave concerns about patient safety, professional accountability, and institutional response.

Worse, despite the multiple arrests, the Health Ministry still deems it necessary to await “expert advice” before taking decisive action against this individual. This sends a deeply troubling message that even repeated allegations of a serious nature do not warrant immediate protective measures while emboldening other would-be predators.
