I REFER to the report, “Stricter control at ports to curb e-waste dumping in Malaysia” (The Star, May 20). In recent years, there have been shocking statistics on the number of containers of e-waste and plastic waste being imported into our country.

Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said multiple enforcement agencies, including the Environment Department (DOE), National Solid Waste Management Department, Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation, and Sirim Berhad, are involved in inspecting the containers.
