Possible effects of, and reactions to, US tariffs


MANY countries will be affected by the recently announced slew of US tariffs.

Malaysia is expected to face a 24% tariff on its exports to the United States. This does not bode well for our economy, as the US is Malaysia’s second-largest export destination, accounting for 14% (US$43.43bil or RM192.7bil) of total exports, after Singapore (16%), according to TradingEconomics.com.
