A stumbling block in organ donation

I AM writing to express my concern regarding the critical need for organ donation and the instances of family members refusing to consent to the donor’s pledge.

Many Malaysians believe that their pledge to donate organs after death should be honoured since it is their final wish. However, the reality is that a living individual, typically a family member, must sign the necessary forms to consent to the procurement of the dead donor’s organs.
