Call for animal welfare organisations to step up


LAW-ABIDING Malaysians would have been shocked by the news headlined “Report lodged over viral video showing man beating dog with hammer” (The Star, Jan 20). The video showed the man in Ipoh brutalising the poor creature, which was tied up in front of his house, with a sledgehammer.

The video of the violent act, which allegedly occurred on Saturday night, was uploaded by a terrified young neighbour who was understandably too scared to go out and confront the man.
