HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has issued a decree to Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) that the culture of bullying there must be stopped immediately, “King issues stern warning to UPNM” (The Star, Dec 4).
In his inaugural address as UPNM’s chancellor at the university’s convocation ceremony, he said that parents send their children to UPNM, which is supervised by the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces through the Military Training Academy, to learn to become military officers, not to be subjected to bullying.
