Health hazard in the making

RECENTLY, I visited a well-known banana leaf outlet in Puchong, Selangor, at around 11am for an early lunch. While I waited, I noticed a foreign worker cleaning the sticky, greasy floor after preparing roti canai. What shocked me was that he used the same tool used for cooking to scrape the grease from the floor!

I considered taking a photo of him, but the cold stare from the proprietor discouraged me. I hope they do have separate tools for cooking and cleaning, but after hearing the accounts of unhygienic practices by food outlet workers that have gone viral on social media recently, I’m inclined to believe otherwise.
