Celebrating the act of giving

WORLD Blood Donor Day (WBDD) has come and gone without much fanfare in Malaysia. Observed globally on June 14 every year, the event aims to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products.

As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the declaration of WBDD, the theme chosen by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is, aptly, “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you blood donors!”
