IN conjunction with the upcoming Workers’ Day celebration, the Malaysia National Human Resource Association would like to propose that the government sets up a “Malaysian Migrant Workers Housing Allowance” to improve the welfare of local workers who have migrated from their habitual place of residence to another state, city or industrial zone nationwide.
Poverty is rife in rural areas, especially in the east coast states of the peninsula and Sabah and Sarawak due to lack of employment opportunities.
