Awaiting Labour Day with high expectations

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has indicated that he would announce the final report on the Public Service Remuneration System Study (SSPA) at the upcoming Labour Day gathering in “Cost of living an important factor in new civil servants’ pay structure, says PM” (The Star, April 19).

That announcement on Labour Day would be a fitting gift to the 1.7 million civil servants in this country whose salary structure has not been reviewed for more than 10 years.
