No more naturalised footballers, please

DURING the early part of my long journalism career with Bernama, I used to be a football writer covering the glorious era of the Malaysia Cup competition in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

On the international stage, when the national team was among the top ranking in the region, I covered the pre- World Cup qualifying match between Malaysia and Kuwait in Kuwait in 1981 starring legendary strikers like Mokhtar Dahari, the Sabahan duo James Wong and Hassan Sani, as well as goalkeeper R. Arumugam, better known as Spiderman.
