REFERRING to the report “Let schools decide on newspapers” (The Star, March 15), I would like to join the chorus of voices appealing to the Education Ministry to withdraw its recent directive that national schools must only subscribe to Bahasa Malaysia newspapers.
Granted, Bahasa Malaysia newspapers will serve as invaluable tools for children to master the national language by contextual learning, vocabulary expansion and grammar.
