Alert the public on danger of sleeping in closed car

I REFER to the report “Victim fell asleep in car without opening windows, say Ipoh cops” (The Star, Feb 21).

It is tragic that news of death in cars are quite regular in Malaysia. It would seem that awareness among the public about the danger of sleeping inside a closed vehicle is low, thus resulting in such tragedies. The government and other stakeholders could do well in organising public awareness campaigns on this matter as it is common to see people sleeping in their cars.
