Batu Ferringhi in dire need of rejuvenation

WE visit Penang every year, sometimes twice a year, and love staying in Batu Ferringhi.

Though it is the premier beach resort area on Penang Island, it seems to be suffering from neglect lately. Commercial buildings are run-down. On either side of the main road running through the town, there is a hotchpotch of huts/store fronts and undeveloped lots, some overgrown with weeds, that are quite an eyesore.
