Providing help to suicide survivors

NATIONAL data shows a rising trend in suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide – from 7.9% and 6.8%, respectively, in the National Health & Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2012, to 13.1% and 9.5%, respectively, in NHMS 2022.

These numbers, already alarming, hide an even larger population of those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Known as suicide survivors, these individuals must find a way to cope with the pain of losing a loved one to suicide.
