More information builds trust in new NS

I BELIEVE the original idea behind National Service (NS) was the noble concept of uniting youth of all races and backgrounds. When the government announced its reintroduction recently, though, apprehensions were aplenty because the previous iterations did not end well.

The first round began in 2003 and ended in 2005 because of spending cuts. The idea was revived in 2016, with fully optional participation in 2019, and then in 2018, a newly elected government abolished it when allegations arose that the camps were being used for racial indoctrination.
