All creatures great and small need kindness too

I REFER to the article in The Star dated Aug 28: “Melaka to consider proposals on humane approach for handling strays, says exco” (online at bit.ly/star_humane). It warms the heart that those in authority care for the welfare of strays, that we seek to build a caring community and work towards a holistic solution.

The problem of strays is obviously not restricted to Melaka. I hope other states take a similar stance in their management of strays. It should be remembered that strays exist largely due to the indifference of humans who choose to abandon their pets.
