IN A statement dated September 11, 2023, Dr Ong Kian Ming, a DAP member and former Bangi MP, discussed Syed Saddiq's decision not to support the unity government and characterised it as a "glass half full" situation. While we respect Ong's perspective, we believe it is essential to provide a comprehensive response.

Firstly, Muda wishes to address the portrayal of the unity government as a victim held hostage by its coalition partners, including Muda, MCA, MIC, and smaller parties in Borneo, for constitutional changes. This perspective overlooks the importance of mutual understanding and respect among all coalition members.
