Allot more for child welfare

IN 2023, the total budget allocated to the Health Ministry (MOH) was RM36,139,861,200. Of this, only RM610,506,300 or 1.7% was allocated to paediatric care. This is a 10-year low, dropping from 2% in 2013.

Some may say that other MOH allocations are also used to meet children’s needs. To this, we recommend visiting our paediatric intensive care units (PICUs) and neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) nationwide that are struggling with space, equipment and nursing resources, unlike adult ICUs.
