Remarks a threat to national unity


THE recent remarks by Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor that Kedah “owns” Penang, and that the Federal Constitution should be amended to support his claim, shows that Perikatan Nasional only relies on provocative and extremist remarks to gain traction.

Sanusi should be reminded that the Federal Constitution is the supreme law of the land, which protects the rights of every citizen and state. Hence, it should not be changed on the whims and fancies of any individual or organisation, especially when it is done solely for their own benefit.
