Why are dogs getting a raw deal?

ONCE again, we are chilled to the marrow over the latest news about dog catchers on the beat, “Elderly man dies saving pet from dog catchers” (The Star, May 26).

What’s more, this incident occurred only a few weeks after another pet owner was assaulted by municipal dog catchers – and ended up being charged in court for preventing the workers from discharging their duty. And that duty was to catch dogs, not defending the nation’s security!
