Humane approach to treat strays


THE public’s support for Patrick Khoo Kian Wui, the senior citizen who was assaulted by a Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) dogcatcher during an operation to round up strays, shows that local authorities must change their way of handling the issue.

So far, our local authorities have only one way of addressing stray/roaming dogs – catch and put them in pounds for seven days before getting them euthanised.
