In memory of a father who had faith in public healthcare


WHEN our public healthcare system is swamped with problems such as shortage of specialists, doctors on strike because of horrible conditions at work, and congested emergency departments, we can only expect the worst when it comes to providing care for patients.

In April 2021, my father was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), an aggressive form of blood cancer with a low survival rate. He had spent a few weeks in Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim (HSAH), Sungai Petani before the diagnosis was confirmed.
