Ensure no more lives are lost in helicopter crashes


THERE have been a number of helicopter crashes reported in the last couple of years. The latest incident occurred on Oct 26 when six people on board a helicopter crashed in Cameron Highlands, Pahang; all were found alive albeit injured (“Helicopter carrying Health Ministry staff members crashes in Cameron Highlands”, The Star; online at bit.ly/star_heli).

In recent history, one of the most notable helicopter crashes happened on April 4, 2015: six people died when their craft crashed near Semenyih, Selangor. Among the dead was Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, an MP and a former ambassador to the United States.
